It's really fun to take things that would otherwise be discarded and turn them into something new. That is what it's all about here at Underdog Candles. The first step is to collect the glassware. We source it from Thrift Stores, Church Sales, on auction sites, and sometimes our own kitchen. We also have a bottle cutting system where we take beer and wine bottles, and cut them and turn them into candle vessels. We work hard at cleaning, buffing, and polishing each peace. There is a ton of discarded or pre used glassware out in the universe. From beer and wine bottles, to old mason jars, jelly, salsa, and honey jars, depression era glassware, old bottles and more. It's our mission to turn as much discarded glassware into beautiful candles as we possibly can.

The word "underdog" correlates with the glassware that we use for our candles. The glassware has been tossed aside, possibly overlooked, it needs a little TLC, but it's still fabulous when given a new opportunity. Here at Underdog Candles, we avoid synthetic fragrances as much as possible and stick to using essential oils as well as handcrafting our own fragrances out of plants. We are located in the Hudson Valley in NY, and have a lovely herb and flower garden where we grow a lot of our own materials that we put into our candles.
